Liquid Amber
This is the second waterfall along Shays Run in Blackwater Falls State Park. Probably my favorite waterfall in all of West Virginia to shoot, with loads of compositional opportunities but the best comps require you to get your feet wet! The dark amber-colored water is a result of the tannins that leach from the fallen needles of hemlock and spruce trees which are abundant throughout the headwaters.
